Do I need planning permission?
It depends on the project — some extensions fall under permitted development, others need a full application. We'll assess this at the first consultation and factor it into the design from the outset.
How much does an architect cost?
Fees vary with project size and scope, and we're happy to discuss a rough figure before you commit to anything. We'll always agree fees clearly before work begins.
How long does the process take?
A single extension might take a few months from concept to planning approval; a new home can take a year or more once planning, technical design and construction are all accounted for.
Do you undertake small projects?
Yes — a single-room extension gets the same attention as a full new build. We don't have a minimum project size.
Do you work with my existing builder?
Absolutely, and we're also happy to recommend contractors we've worked with before if you don't already have one.
What areas do you cover?
Primarily Norfolk and the surrounding area, though we're open to discussing projects further afield depending on scope.
When should I appoint an architect?
As early as possible — even before you've bought a site or settled on a brief. Early involvement is where the best opportunities are usually found.
Can you help with planning permission?
Yes, preparing and submitting planning applications — and liaising with the planning authority throughout — is a core part of what we do.
What happens during the first consultation?
We talk through your requirements, aspirations and budget, and discuss the site itself. It's informal, and there's no obligation to proceed afterwards.
